LaRae Schmitt, Writer and Illustrator for Jazzalot and Jazzalot Books, has entertained children since she was a child herself. As a young adult, she would amuse children of family/friends through creative storytelling and art geared towards their interest and abilities.  

Now, as an older adult, LaRae has similar opportunities of finding fun ways to delight children – with art, music, games, plays, make believe, reading books and planting seeds for ‘budding’ Indy Publishers.

LaRae published “The Garbage Truck Man!” in 2023 and “This Little House” in 2024.  For the next phase, LaRae has started a Blog called ‘The Jazzalot Journal’ with a ‘Between the Books’ Series.  One mission of this series is to ‘Pay it Forward’ by sharing information learned from the many great creators on the web, including the Free and Open Source Software they make available.  This information will also be provided in print format from time-to-time, the first of which is now available under the title The Jazzalot Journal, Between the Books Series "Business Infrastructure Overview - Jump Start / Maintain Control of Your Indie Publishing Business".  All books can be purchased at discount through our 'Jazzalot Books' tab here at jazzalot.com or you can find them at your favorite retailer!
